Golden Inspiration Long devoted to championing the human-canine bond, our
knowledge and spirit have been
strengthened by the important work of such visionaries as Dr. Allen Schoen. A believer that all animals have emotions and feelings,
Allen began his research into natural healing in the 1970s, at a time when his colleagues neither understood nor cared about what he was doing.
The
tender image above of 'paw in hand,' that graced the initial printing of his book,
Kindred Spirits, gives visual reminder to the power of
The Bond—so framing those actions on the behalf of our
vital animal companions.

Advancing our Mission
Celebrating our 11th year on the web, our educational and charitable nonprofit is
promoting cancer awareness,
providing Cancer Treatment Grants for ALL breed Working Dogs,
and actively funding research in comparative
oncology, the study of cancers that occur similarly in humans and companion
animals. To both strengthen and proactively lengthen the bond, we provide
storytelling, interactive activities, and several hundred
pages on canine rearing, holistic health practices, and motivational learning. And, our Blog—where there is sometimes laughter and sometimes tears— always provides food for the soul.
Work continues on our documentary film,
The Dance
of Life, as we prepare for a Winter 2008 debut.
We are very excited about our now working with
Beal Media, their goal to bring folks' stories
alive. The film captures the journey of Carolyn Scott and her Golden
Retriever Rookie, hand and paw together, moving from fear to
freedom, and so inspiring the lives of all whom they have touched.
A Guiding Philosophy
LIVE LOVE LAUGH and LEARN forms the central theme and structure of our
huge 1,200+ page website. It actually came about as a special tribute
and can be seen on the logo that adorns the bottom of every one of our site's pages. So, do be sure to Live and Learn, see
Loyalty at Work, and
Love and Laugh. The lessons these furry angels teach us are never
ending, so inspiring a new respect, appreciation, and celebration of life. For
that reason, we encourage folks to share their own
tales of discovery. Dr. Schoen very wisely reminds us, "Far from a luxury, pets are now recognized as a necessity—friends who fortify us daily with their gifts of love, loyalty and laughter."
Yet, our shared affinity for Golden Retrievers is noted in his special adage, "G-d made dogs and then when he perfected them, he created Goldens."
