We found it hard to believe that it was over a month since our last visit, weather and prior committments to blame, but alas we finally were able to find a Friday that suited us. Off we went to see Mrs. Brown's class of wonderful kids all anxiously awaiting Polar's arrival. We raced down the hall and into the classroom and everyone shouted at the same time, "IT'S POLAR! HI POLAR! Where have you been?"

We both were very happy to see some faces that hadn't been there for our last couple of visits. Serigo was probably the most excited to see Polar. His face was all smiles as he gave Polar a big hug and a kiss. He was not at the last visit, where Polar took his sister Xyla for show and tell, and he heard all about that visit, and then had a bunch of questions for Polar. Everyone got to ask questions. We answered them as best we could.

Then, we got to play pass the balloon to music. When the music stops, you are out. Not all the children like to be out, but they all must learn that you can't win every time!! Also, one of the students was very afraid of balloons, so he got to see Polar play with the balloon, and even bat it with his paw. This encouraged him to do the same, which he did. He even smiled and seemed to be having fun for a short time. But, then Polar got his teeth into the balloon and I am sure you can guess what happened next. After that Polar wasn't to sure about balloons.   Yet, we had a lovely visit, and are looking forward to our next one. Hopefully, it won't be so long a wait.

On Wednesday, February 4th, Polar and Nana went to visit the residents of Garden Spot Village. The residents are all so impressed with Polar since he is no longer using his wheelchair to get around. They call him the miracle dog. He bounds from one room to the next giving everyone a nudge, lick or just a friendly wag of his tail. We make a big circle around the building and by the time we get back to the door Polar is usually tired and thirsty. When we were about to get finished with our rounds, we got to the last room but the resident was asleep in her bed so we quietly walked by. But, she opened her eyes and had the most beautiful smile on her face. She said, "Why Polar, I wouldn't want to miss your visit for the world." He changed his course and went into her room and right over to her bed where he put his head on her bed while she talked quietly to him and rubbed his head. She said he was just the sweetest visitor she had had that day. Polar has found all the residents to be very friendly and they all really seem to enjoy his visits. He will be back next month.

On Monday, February 9th, Polar and Nana went to Octorara Elementary School to Jori Hake's class. Polar's last visit was before Christmas and the children were asking for him. He even had some Christmas presents to open from Brittany. He got biscuits, treats, and a toy.

After listening to everyone read, Polar and the children went to the gym for a special class. First they played with the playground balls but Polar was afraid of them. Then they raced from one side of the gym to the other. Polar enjoyed the chase but never seemed to make it to the other side. Then they all played with the parachute. When a person or dog's name was called, that person or dog had to race under the parachute before it fell and get to the other side. At first Polar went half way and then back to his spot, but Emily showed him how to do it and then he was fine. He had a wonderful time. When we got home, he slept all afternoon with his new toy on the bed beside him . . . dreaming of playing with the children at Octorara Elementary.

On Friday February 6th Polar went to visit the children at Brecknock Elementary school for show and tell. This was the first time Polar was invited to participate in show and tell, so he had to decide what to take. We finally came up with a perfect solution. He could take his sister Xyla along for show and tell!! He was very proud leading his sister into the school that he is so familiar with. His sister on the other hand was just a tad hesitant about going in big doors but as she watched Polar go she must have felt it was safe and followed along.

We waited in the lobby for the okay to head to the classroom. I told Xyla everything was going to be fine, and that she would have a great time! We made it to the room, and of course we had to go first for show and tell. The kids just loved Xyla. They had tons of questions. How old is she? What is her name? How many other dogs do you have, etc. We answered all the questions. Xyla received allot of loving from all the children.

We got to listen to all the other children's show and tell items. Some brought pictures from home, and others brought their favorite toy. It was really neat to see and hear them tell about the item. We all got to ask questions about it, a great way to promote conversation and communicating! Then it was time for us to leave and we gathered our things and of course Polar knows the way, and off we went. Polar enjoyed having his big sister along so he could show her what he does on Fridays. It was really good to see him interact with her there!

We went to visit our kids at Brecknock on Friday January 16th. This would be the first visit since Christmas, so we were both excited to see our kids, Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Harsh. We got there and entered the room, and everyone was yelling, "Hi Polar! Hi Polar!" We visited for about 20 minutes, then we answered questions, and then it was off to gym class. What a treat that was. There was another class at gym class that is Mrs. Brown's kids buddy's for gym, so there were more people to meet!!

Polar loved gym class and was glad to be back visiting his kids. He also got to open a gift from the kids for Christmas, which is what the picture is of. He loved his gifts and has been playing with them all weekend. It was a very nice visit, and we both look forward to our next one. Oh, I forgot to mention there was a new student in Mrs. Brown's class who seemed to really enjoy Polar.

Here is Polar wearing his Christmas hat that his Grandma got him! It played a little song
when you squeezed the top part of the hat. Polar seemed to enjoy wearing it.

Here is Jack the Clinic Cat wearing Polar's hat. I do think Jack liked it!

Here is a photo of Polar at home with his brother playing in the yard! He loves
to play ball or actually he loves to play chase Logan as he chases the ball!

Here is a handmade thank-you card from the kids at Millburn school!

At lunchtime at school, Polar sure wanted some of his Grandma's chicken salad.
