The
loss of an animal companion is often just as devastating as the death of a human
loved one. It actually take years to actively continue and grow in our life
journeys following such a loss.
Celebrating a dog's blessing in our lives is always appropriate, especially
when they have left our sides . . . as the wonder they shared with us remains in
our hearts forever. At the same time, how wonderful it is to not wait to treat
yourself to such a lovely piece of art, so capturing the furry love of your life.
Yet, these Stained Glass portraits may be just the thing to keep the light
shining in.
Glass comes in a constellation of colors and textures, and like the
ocean, changes mood with the light. Christine utilizes the intensity
of stained glass to create vibrant one-of-a-kind custom works of
art. You will be able to see a treasured photo come to life in
glass, as she captures your memories and
the animal's essence in the art of stained glass.
Meet Christine Wilson,
busy working in her in-home studio, which includes two kilns, three backlit
worktables and too many soldering and cutting tools to count. She is a fellow
dog lover that's her guy Orbit and artist of Vitri-Fusáille, a hybrid technique which combines the
process of Contemporary Flat Glass Fusing with Traditional Glass Painting. It
allows for a degree of immediate and expressive artistry which until recently
was never possible in stained glass, so critical to depicting the intricate patterns of fur in her animal
portraits.
The
detail in this unique medium will transform your pet photo into a shining, and
literally illuminated, work of art that will honor your precious companion
forever.
As
Christine wanted to showcase and evenly backlight her completed stained glass
panels, she designed this ABS light box which is lightweight, attractive, and
balanced for counter display. The box emits bright and even illumination with a
lamp life of an amazing 10,000 hours.
Having studied under the creator of Vitri-Fusáille, world renowned artist Peter
McGrain, Christine achieves much imagery by utilizing the art of tracing and mating in
traditional stained glass painting fired on fused glass, rich in saturated
color. Incredible possibilities exist for capturing your favorite dog, cat, horse,
rabbit, pig, you name it. Passion is the cornerstone of every piece Christine
creates in Vitri-Fusáille, and she spends considerable time finishing projects
so that each becomes a masterpiece.
You can sit and look at a stained glass piece over a
24-hour period and it will look different over time. There’s so much
intensity and vibrancy, and the passion behind pulling it all together and
making it come to life is what drives me. ― Christine
Wilson

Meet Talented Artist Christine Wilson
A native of Las Vegas, Christine was initially a CPA who received an
MBA from the U of Texas at Austin. However, she was restless behind a
desk and was missing her creative side. Christine's favorite art form,
stained glass, became her passion, where a love of animals and
underwater photography led to an ability to design vibrant, original
glass works of art.
Christine's work has been shown at the Gary's Island Home Store, Lake Las Vegas Montelago
Village's Fine Art Festival, Trails Village Center Artwalk, Gallery of Excellence,
and Art
Bark Fest. She was the featured artist in the Jan 2009 Summerlin Home News
and her art was displayed in the Dec/Jan 2007
Glass Craftsman magazine.
Christine's Glass was profiled in "Arf Gallery" in the Jan/Feb 2008
Lucky Dog Magazine. Her exhibit "Bringing Animals and Nature to
Life in Stained Glass" was recently at the Summerlin and Enterprise Library Galleries.
Christine also received First
Place and the People's Choice award for her stained glass panel "Desert
Bloom" shown at the 2009 International Glass and Bead Expo.
