Skoy
cloths are one of my favorite products. I told you the only bad
thing about Skoy cloths is they last forever, and we don’t need
to buy more to replace them. Thanks again for the great products
and service you provide and all you do for the doggies.

Honestly, we are simply in love with this wonderful
product. The SKOY cloth is a fabulous, absorbent, biodegradable and
natural multi-use cloth made from a unique blend of natural cotton and
cellulose from wood. It is both biodegradable and compostable,
an
independent composting test showing SKOY breaking down
completely within 5 weeks (16 weeks in a city landfill). This re-usable earth friendly cloth is
perfect in your kitchen, bathroom, and on most hard surface areas in your
home or office, such as counter tops, tabletops, bookshelves, and
the floor.
SKOY cloth can be used in place of your sponge, wash
cloth or paper towels. A durable product due to the reusability
factor, it can last months. Using a SKOY cloth is equivalent to using 15 rolls of paper towels
in an average home. The SKOY cloth, which has an absorption factor
of 15x its own weight, is long-lasting because of the washability
feature. The cloth dries quickly, so it is not a breeding ground for
bacteria. And, it is easily cleaned in your washer.
These
cloths are simple to use. Simply wet your SKOY cloth before using,
and then squeeze out the excess
water for optimal absorption. It can be used with popular household
cleaners, but works just as well with water. Be sure to rinse the
Skoy cloth very well when combined with dish soap in order
not to leave residue. Chlorine-use is not
recommended.
How long does a SKOY cloth last?
Since SKOY is
reusable and washable, it can last over a year. A normal life cycle of a SKOY cloth starts in the kitchen to wipe countertops and
table tops. After using the SKOY for a week or two in the
kitchen, it can be renewed in the washer and “downgraded”
for indoor cleaning such as floors, bathrooms, etc. After a
few months in this stage, being washed a couple of times,
the SKOY can then be used for outdoor messes, such as wiping
patio furniture as well as for garage use. This is the great
thing with SKOY, it can be used over and over again.
Will my SKOY cloth be ruined if I wash it often?
No, the SKOY cloth can last over 50 wash cycles if using
a normal detergent. Some customers have used our SKOY cloth
daily for over a year. Having said that, it is always a good
feeling to use a SKOY cloth for the first time, so do not
forget to buy new ones once in a while…
What is the difference between SKOY and a microfiber
cloth? The biggest difference is that SKOY is more
earth-friendly as it is made from natural
materials and is 100% biodegradable, while microfiber cloths
are made from synthetic materials. Our experience also shows
that a SKOY cloth absorbs liquids better than microfiber
cloths, and as such, is superior for kitchen use. Finally, we
think that SKOY feels better in your hand when using it.
How is SKOY a greener cleaning solution than paper
towels, both end up on the landfill and both are
biodegradable? It is true that both SKOY and paper towels end up on the
landfill (unless you have a compost) and that both are
biodegradable. However, there is a big and important
difference — a paper towel you can only use once, while a
SKOY can be used over and over again. In an average
household, each SKOY cloth saves 15 rolls of paper towels!
Why should we be reducing the use of paper towels
According to
the
EPA, the USA generates 250 million tons of trash per
year, of which around 34% is paper. That is 85 million tons
of paper waste per year! Reducing paper-towel waste will do
the following:
1. Less paper waste reduces greenhouse gases in
multiple ways.
a) reduces transportation required to haul goods/packages, b) reduces energy needed to make goods/packages, c) reduces fuel consumed in hauling waste to landfill, and d) reduces methane in landfill from decomposing paper.
2. Using less paper towels means cutting down less trees,
which reduces the
risk of deforestation.
According to
American Dryer, 17 trees are consumed to make one ton of paper towels.
4. Using less paper towels means using up less landfill
resources. According to
Arizona State U,
a decrease in U.S. household consumption of just three
rolls per year would save 120,000 tons of waste and $4.1
million in landfill dumping fees.
